Introducing CADET-Julia, an open-source, versatile, and high-performance chromatography solver developed in the Julia programming language. CADET-Julia provides a powerful platform for rapid prototyping and numerical refinement of chromatography models. It utilizes the discontinuous Galerkin spectral element method (DGSEM) for interstitial column mass balances and the generalized spectral Galerkin method (GSM) for particle mass balances. In our benchmarks, CADET-Julia demonstrated remarkable computational efficiency compared to C++ implementations in CADET-Core, showcasing the potential of Julia for scientific computing and the advantages of Galerkin methods over finite volume approaches. Thank you, Jesper Frandsen and Jan Breuer, for your outstanding work, and Johannes Schmölder, Jakob Huusom, Krist Gernaey, and Jens Abildskov for this productive and collaborative partnership between DTU and FZ Jülich.
