Hi all,
A common issue for chromatography modelers is that there are many parameters to determine (system, column, and resin) which can be overwhelming. Most of these parameters can be estimated with physical correlations, which is convenient. If used correctly, correlations should provide a value within an order of magnitude (or better) of the “true” value (anecdotally). Parameters determined as such can be used as a starting point for further refinement, or be used as your final value. However, there are countless correlations and it is not always obvious which to use. In 2024, one of my co-op students at AbbVie prepared an Excel spreadsheet which conveniently applies various correlations to estimate required transport parameters. I have provided this sheet here – hopefully it is useful for the community. Would appreciate feedback on this, in case any errors are observed or some improvements can be made!
